Public and Third Sectors

Roger Lewis has played an active part in the public sector and in third sector charitable organisations. In the public sector he was appointed by the UK Government to Chair the Advisory Board of the Department of Education Music and Dance Scheme; invited by the First Minister and Deputy First Minister of Wales to Chair the cross-party 2011 referendum campaign; appointed by Welsh Government to Chair the Cardiff Capital Region, Chair the Cardiff International Airport, be President of National Museum Wales and Chair the review of the Welsh Government historic environment service, Cadw. Roger Lewis was appointed by the Secretary of State for Wales to be a member of a UK Cabinet Office group to advise on the 2022 Platinum Jubilee Civic Honours. In the charitable sector Roger Lewis chaired the Ogmore Residential Education Centre, is a founder trustee of Compass for Life, supporting children in disadvantaged circumstances, was a member of the St john Ambulance Cymru Centenary Appeal Committee and a founder partner of the Beacon Fellowship for Philanthropy which recognised exceptional contributions to causes or to organisations which benefited the public.
